I reported directly to Amit at dineout and Nykaa. One of my primary reasons to join dineout was Amit because of his clear vision and a leader mindset. While working at dineout, I loved the way he managed the team. Despite being the CPO, he made sure to not only elevate the product at dineout but also the dineout brand. He is an excellent mentor who made sure that each and every member of the team grows along with the company. I saw him invest a great amount of effort to establish a healthy work culture. Due to a great learning experience with Amit at dineout, his leadership qualities, and product vision, I decided to join his team at Nykaa. Again at Nykaa, I was impressed by his direction, clarity of thought, and building a product oriented culture. Despite being at a leadership level, he has a very hands-on approach and yet gives full autonomy to his team. Given an opportunity, I would surely love to work again with Amit as every day, and every call with him is a new learning experience! He is one of the best product leaders that I've worked with and got an opportunity to learn. I highly recommend him, and I'm sure that he can build great products, an awesome product culture, and drive product lead growth; which he has already demonstrated in his multiple leadership stints!

Amit was my skip-level manager on the product team at Nykaa. Working with him was an incredible learning experience. He led the team with both a big-picture perspective as well as a detail-oriented approach. This allowed him to balance business and product priorities, focusing on what was important. Amit has a very first-principles approach to product and brought a lot of product process rigour to the team, such as user testing, case studies, and competitor analysis. He pushed the team to add structure and deep thought to the product decisions we were making. What has stuck with me the most, however, and sets Amit apart as a leader, is how culture-oriented he is, both in terms of transforming the org into a tech-led one, and ensuring the growth and happiness of each of his team members. Amit’s superpower is being an incredibly empathetic listener, and he made an extraordinary effort to make time for consistent 1:1s with his team. During our overlap at Nykaa, Amit spent a lot of time with me, guiding me on my professional goals and growth, giving me concrete and structured feedback, and talking through my questions and concerns with transparency and care. It has been a privilege to work with and learn from Amit, and I really hope we get the chance to work together again.

I got the chance to work under Amit’s guidance at OYO & Nykaa on the Global consumer demand and Buying experience charters. I learnt valuable lessons in core product management skills from him - be it around building complex products from 0 to 1, MVP approach, assessing consumer feedback or evangelising the product. Moreover, he inspired me to push the boundaries and go the extra mile beyond the obvious solutions, which helped me to be a better product manager and brought out the best outcomes for the consumers and the business.
